Intrepid organise several content shoots every year and as part of Intrepid’s production team I was responsible for putting together the ‘shoot briefs’. These briefs informed the crew where we were going and what shots needed to be captured. Separate briefs tailored for the talent on the shoot and the marketing departments gave greater context and analysis to the purpose of the shoot.

I also acted as producer on shoots in Turkey, Bali and along the Great Ocean Road. As producer, I organised the itinerary, scouted talent and managed the budget for the shoot.

For perspective, these 3 shoots alone generated over 900 images, 6 video edits and over 30 minutes of b-roll footage. I integrated and catalogued all of these assets into our online asset management system - Bynder.

Whilst at Intrepid I worked with the lead UX designer, examining an existing issue with the website and how the principles of UX design could be implemented to help solve it.

In particular we looked at departure date information and how it was displayed on trip pages.

I turned my interest into a qualification by completing a User Experience Design course at RMIT University in June 2020.

The course saw me investigating a real-world problem, performing user research and developing a working prototype. I chose to look at an issue with the SEEK mobile app.

During my time at Intrepid, the companies entire visual asset library was moved onto an online Digital Asset Management (DAM) system - Bynder.

As Visual Producer, my role was to catalogue, organise and internally market the company’s library of digital assets.

The library consisted of over 30,000 digital assets, including stills, video and documents. Every asset had to be appropriately assessed and catalogued, by me, before it could be added to the library.

I created a structure within the DAM system so assets from each new content shoot were housed together, along with additional shoot details and information. This allowed marketing teams to easily access not only shoot assets but more general information about the shoot..

I was also responsible for ensuring image standards were maintained across the brand, from both an ethical and health & safety standpoint. To do this I created an online visual guideline document and accompanying e-quiz for all employees to undertake if they wanted access to the DAM.

In previous roles, I’ve put together designed documents to aide the understanding and engagement with internal processes.

Giving employees the knowledge and tools to solve challenges within their roles independently.

Having been pre-press manager at a print house, I have considerable experience working with digital and offset printers.

Working on a Konica Minolta BizHub550i digital printer, I’ve worked closely with companies such as Heritage Brands and McCormicks Food, correctly setting their artwork for print. Including adding dielines, checking overprints, spot/UV colours, ink coverage and Pantone colour-matching all of their print work.

Typical examples of the type of product I worked on would be countertop display stands, POS displays, shelf wobblers, hangsells and box packaging. See examples below.

Intrepid Travel’s brochures were an annual project that required a dedicated team of designers and copywriters to put together. Typically producing upwards of 30 different brochures for the global market. The brochure ‘season’ lasted roughly 6 months of the year.

As part of this team, I created page layouts, maps and sourced images. I was also responsible for ensuring trip pricing, across multiple currencies, was entered into the correct brochure before going to print - a crucial part of the production process.

Created logos and artwork for new local council produced podcasts - #InThisTogether and Humans of Macedon Ranges.

Both podcasts showcase the people and stories in the Macedon Ranges region, during and post pandemic.

Artwork formatted for use in Spotify, iTunes and embedded streaming through the council website.

Artwork was adapted for video trailers, previewing upcoming episodes.

Working at a local council, I worked on a ‘pandemic’ campaign to help galvanise the community during a difficult time. This involved developing the existing logo and lockups, creating a new colour palette and creating design concepts to work across multiple platforms and media.

All of this was built into a comprehensive campaign guidelines document.

Personal projects where I’ve designed new club crests for local sports teams. Coming up with eye-catching and modern design solutions by drawing on influences such as local history and landmarks.

Brand refresh for a firm of lawyers.

Branding concept for a coffee shop. Based around the animated Lucky Luke tv show.

Working with a local church to create a new identity to better reflect their values and position in the community.

The brief was to project a sense of warmth and kindess and soften the exisiting branding. I came up with the idea of using a series of interchangeable watercolour splashes that would work with a fixed wordmark.

These ‘splashes’ would denote different areas and directories within the church itself.

Branding for a cafe/restaurant. Identity was inspired by it’s owners Greek-heritage - Mykonos being a Greek island.

I created a handwritten font and introduced a windmill graphic that can be used independently from the wordmark. These windmills are famous for dotting the landscape of Mykonos.

Had the opportunity to work on the rebrand of a popular milk powder for distributor Dairy-Pac International.

After initial consultation, I presented the client with a suite of logos incorporating their requested ‘must-haves’ - has to feature a cow and the colour gold.

Once they had selected their logo of choice, it was incorporated onto soft and hard packaging.

I worked in the marketing and PR department at a high-end London estate agency. Putting together listings magazines, advertisements and promotional materials. All working within a very strict set of brand guidelines.

Alongside mailouts, advertisements would appear in publications such as TimeOut London and The London Magazine.

Turnaround had to be quick, as deadlines were tight and couldn’t be missed.

I recently worked with a local cosmetics company on a new product line - Lolly Mist.

The brief was to design a logo and accompanying packaging that evoked a ‘retro-candy aesthetic’. But still maintain an element of a luxury beauty product. Drawing inspiration from old lolly packaging and styles, I came up with the below pink script logo.

Working with MEB Foods, a well-established international bakery, designing marketing and promotional materials.

Traditional print-based media such as brochures, leaflets and flyers were a key component of the workload.

Including a series of billboards that were displayed around major highways in Melbourne.

Whilst working for a tourism company in Oxford I was given the task of creating a ‘Guide to Oxford’. To be sold and distributed around the city of Oxford.

Logo and branding for a surveying company. Client’s only request was for the colour blue to be used. So I came up with a simple ‘blue swirl’ with an ‘i’ in the middle.

Stationery templates designed and office signage was created using the same logo.

Designing a new identity for a local fish & chip shop - based around a monochromatic newspaper theme.

A new logo was created along with menus, signage and a general refresh.

Working with a local council on their Go Local First campaign, I created numerous assets to help stimulate local businesses and inspire local people to shop local.

Video graphics, digital advertising, mailouts, decals and posters/banners were all produced as part of the campaign.

An Instagram account I run, documenting football crest designs from around the world.

I find crests I like and strip them back to an individual monochromatic element. Creating a clean simple record of each design.

The account currently has just under 2000 followers, all attained organically. Managing the account has also given me some insight into how social media and audience growth works.
